Guava vs Watermelon Juice

Guava vs. watermelon juice has many good points. Guava is as exotic fruit that can easily be turned into guava juice described below.

Homemade guava juice for guava vs watermelon juice.

The guava color most resembles a grapefruit in American stores (or pamplemousse in exotic countries I saw signs for).

And that’s true as you find so many different tropical juices in other parts of the world. Makes you wonder how many edible fruits and plant-based shrubs we haven’t discovered or named yet?

After they do, they usually import them into our grocery stores where they can become more popular as convenient to us.

Like a guava that can get missed, you don’t want to miss out on in a refreshing guava juice opportunity… but in the produce section of stores, the guava fruit can easily be missed.

Guava that can get lost amongst limes and star fruits. Look for the PLU sticker that says 4299.

This guava fruitis the size of a lime.

…The green color on the outside with brown spots can camouflage the fruit surrounded by bright oranges and other common fruits.

On the outside, a guava is tiny compared to those large fruits and other large bags of bright fruit.

And it’s even less noticeable than a lime, even though it can often be about the same size and color.

And after sourced and cut into, what makes this Vitamin C rich guava fruit the most enticing is:

Squeezing guava juice that can be a good alternative for guava vs watermelon juice.

It’s gorgeous pink color interior that looks like it has been painted with a few pretty seeds.

A guava is so much sweeter after you get into its exotic fruit center.

But it’s not too sweet. And it’s not very juicy.

The interior fruit is fleshy and has a bit of a gritty texture that’s different than other fruits.

What you’ll notice quickly, is it has a fragrant nectar plus a fresh leaf scent that would be great captured in a perfume bottle.

It almost has an aloe vera scent vibe (that’s another exotic plant) to it where you can feel the powerful Vitamin C healthy beverage permeating your body.

It’s a sensory and aromatherapy experience.

Watermelon on the other hand doesn’t have much of a scent. It’s fresh and if you take a sniff at a cucumber, you get a similar experience.

But watermelon is one-of-a-kind in that a slice of watermelon can be the dessert. Or you can make a simple but delicious watermelon sherbet or sorbet.

Differences of Guava vs. Watermelon Juice and Fruit

Guava is available from tropical or subtropic areas and watermelons are grown on farms or in the soil in warm climates.

Both guava and watermelon are full of lycopene, that’s good for anti-inflammation. And potassium that’s in many foods that helps with minute-by-minute body functions, but we need a lot daily.

Watermelon is mostly water and so when you cut into a whole watermelon, you naturally get a waterfall of watermelon juice that you can drink. And the melon keeps giving as you cut into it more. You can also squeeze juice out from the flesh. With so much abundance, I like to add watermelon to a sipping coffee smoothie drink. Guava is not as giving as you would press out the juice like in orange, pineapple, or mango juice.

And one big difference of Guava vs Watermelon Juice is how quickly you can cut into the fruit for juice. Guava will ripen gradually like a banana. But watermelons are already mature and ripe when picked or harvested. They don’t get more sweet as you wait. So that’s a plus, that there’s no waiting period for watermelon juice.

For guava, in my shopping experience, waiting for it to ripen was about a week from the green to yellowish color. It’s kinda hidden in this fruit bowl to help ripen faster.

Then when it’s a banana or canary yellow color, it’s softer, ripe, and ready to make guava juice.

Guava fruit vary in small sizes and lighten from a pear color to a light green-yellow when ripe.

And then soft, you can pulverize (blend) into a guava drink or breakfast morning juice to get your tropical vibe on without traveling! That you can even blend with your watermelon juice if you have some around by then to make a tropical blended juice.

Guava, being more tropical, can be your new mango juice 🥭 or freshly squeezed orange juice.

You can also make a refreshing guava juice spritzer. And save the guava fruit fleshy parts to make a guava cheesecake dessert or sorbet, maybe?
