Guava juice is a drink we think of when we’re not in the United States or a Western culture country. It’s as exotic as this sign.
The guava color most resembles a grapefruit in American stores (or pamplemousse in exotic countries I saw signs for).
And that’s true as you find so many different tropical juices in other parts of the world. Makes you wonder how many edible fruits and plant-based shrubs we haven’t discovered or named yet?
After they do, they usually import them into our grocery stores where they can become more popular as convenient to us.
Like a guava that you don’t want to miss out on in a refreshing guava juice opportunity… but in the produce section of stores, the guava fruit can easily be missed.
…The green color on the outside with brown spots can camouflage the fruit surrounded by bright oranges and other common fruits.
On the outside, a guava is tiny compared to those large fruits and other large bags of bright fruit.
And it’s even less noticeable than a lime, even though it can often be about the same size and color.
And after sourced and cut into, what makes this Vitamin C rich guava fruit the most enticing is:
It’s gorgeous pink color interior that looks like it has been painted with a few pretty seeds.
A guava is so much sweeter after you get into its exotic fruit center.
But it’s not too sweet. And it’s not very juicy.
The interior fruit is fleshy and has a bit of a gritty texture that’s different than other fruits.
What you’ll notice quickly, is it has a fragrant nectar plus a fresh leaf scent that would be great captured in a perfume bottle.
It almost has an aloe vera scent vibe (that’s another exotic plant) to it where you can feel the powerful Vitamin C healthy beverage permeating your body.
It’s a sensory and aromatherapy experience.
And, I’m thinking Viktor&Rolf nectar scents… 💭
But that’s me dreaming of the good life (when I’m not traveling to an exotic locale) 🌍 …and taking time to appreciate a modern balanced style of life.
Getting this unusual guava fruit into my home was one way. Waiting for it to ripen was about a week from the green to yellowish color.
You can add to your fruit bowl to turn ripe faster.
When it’s a banana or canary yellow color then it’s softer, ripe, and ready to make guava juice.
Then you too can pulverize into a guava drink or breakfast morning juice to get your tropical vibe on without traveling!
Guava can be the new mango juice 🥭 or maybe orange juice someday.
Keep the guava fleshy parts to make a guava cheesecake dessert or sorbet, maybe?
