healthy chocolate moon cake recipe with full moon appearance

This can look like a total eclipse that’s a very special type of full moon where the earth, moon, and the sun completely align.

And this baked moon cake illuminating is going to please science class age and older generations. It could be part of the happy memories you create today that doesn’t get forgotten after eaten. 🎉

Cake always holds a special place in my heart and I remember most cakes in my life. And for most the sweet tooths on the planet!

And adding decorations to your cake for a special healthy chocolate moon cake is timeless like the moon that’s forever showing up on our calendars.

If you follow the cake decorating steps here, then you make a realistic looking moon surface and bling like a diamond ring giving a Bailey’s bead glow effect. 💍

An eclipse phenom where I remember early on waaayy before the internet days, when we would go to a local open field to see the solar eclipse. We had on our special glasses that looked like the 3-D glasses we wore in movie theaters. Hmm, that sounds a lot like what we still do now post 2020.

Depending on how old you are, you may or may not remember those kooky paper glasses made of red and blue cellophane paper to make the movie theater movie come alive in 3-D like today’s virtual reality glasses.

…Such fun times remembered, and you can enjoy making this cake in that spirit. 🎉

You can also make this a full vanilla moon cake 🌕, but chocolate is more decadent and mysterious like the appearance the moon sometimes has once in a blue moon. 🌚

It feels more spiritual like night can.

And if you want to transform your moon to a sleek evening glossy finish, you can use a chocolate ganache type frosting.

You don’t have to start over, just simply cover your moon with shiny melted chocolate (and mix with milk). Then bring back some pearlies if you choose. It’s your mission. 🚀

A transformed moon cake to elegant evening cake.
Ganache finish

As a healthy chocolate moon cake, you can get your anti-inflammatory polyphenol 🌈 healthy food fill with natural spices, beet powder, and matcha tea that give the moon surface colors. And inside, you can use pure cacao delight where you can use unsweetened and unprocessed and/or 70% dark cacao versions.

…Shoot for the chocolate moon! I’ll be back for a strawberry moon 🍓…stay tuned on the blog.
