Mushy Peas with Mint

Turning a frozen pea to a mushy pea side dish with mint is a tasty food pairing and good for your aches, anxiety, and nervous stomach.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag frozen peas or green lentils
  • 1 teabag spearmint tea
  • water

Instructions

  • Microwave bag of frozen peas in a microwaveable pot or covered bowl with water covering peas (no salt) for 1-2 minutes. Do not overcook. Mash peas while hot if desired. If you use dried green lentils, cook with enough water on stovetop on medium heat for about 35 minutes or until soft.
  • Reduce liquid. Brew spearmint tea bag to pot. (Tip: use spearmint or a spearmint blend tea. You can use peppermint but it will be cooling and won't taste as herby as spearmint).
  • Blend green peas or lentils in Magic Bullet blender for mashed mushy peas. Enjoy
